Who among us is not fond of modern times! We see living conditions on an improvement trajectory. Essentials in life are effortless. Abundant supply of food. Spacious living arrangements with continuous supply of water and power, at least in the Western Hemisphere. Merchandise costs are lower than previous years. Increasing wealth and wages; wealthier get wealthier, and poor get wealthier. Equanimity. Stocks make new highs regularly. People and the economy are able to withstand minor tremors with ease. Resilient human condition. Limitless abundance in every aspect of life has given all of us a feel of reaching the pinnacle of life. Modernity has delivered to humanity riches, which eluded our ancestors. Earth conquered by humanity. For everything else there is ubiquitous technology. Effortless, indeed, life. Thoughts on life can cease. History can be forgotten because we are rewriting the history of human achievement. Life on dirt will be a relic for future archeological discoverers; Humanity commences Digital Life in the new century. Digital Human is ready to be deployed, as well, in the metaverse developed by technocrats. Humanity has arrived at the airport for a flight into the future. We have digital content to go through while we await the boarding announcement for the digitalization of life.
Human journey of eons, ancestral struggles of centuries, philosophical perches of life, intellectual pursuits of scientists, and environmental and ecological drudgeries solved by Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Tesla. Food will be developed in a laboratory. Drudgery of farming eliminated. Google solves aging. Reproduction eliminated. Digitalization of life transformed, ably, by Facebook and Microsoft. Amazon and Apple deliver devices to lead digital lives. Tesla transports humanity to Mars, and Earth will be a nostalgic destination to visit. The vast digital collections will engage our worry-free digital lives, our visits with others will be digital holograms, and our living environment is futuristically Fantastic. Unthinkable just a century back. Ingenuity and speed of human transformation is unprecedented.
Humanity lives for the future. Present moment is consumed by thoughts of the future. We aim to lead lives free of problems in future. We seek a better existence. All our pursuits, ultimately, are aimed at an unknown future. Future exists, safely, in the deft hands of Bezos, Brin, Cook, Gates, Musk, and Zuckerberg. Their concern for humanity is unmatched in human history. Does a child worry in the arms of the mother? We are children for the sextet orchestrating our future! Humanity has been guided by leaders throughout our history. Unguided lives are disastrous for the self, and society. Sinister thoughts on the sextet’s plans for our betterment should not cross our minds!
Or should we? Humanity is living through a period of heightened distrust. Governance does not trust people. Corporations do not trust people. Nations do not trust nations. People do not trust people. We do not trust our own self. One distrustful, or deceitful act leads to draconian changes to our existence. Cameras follow our every move externally. Digital systems track every transaction. Credit score tracks our trustworthiness. Wages and employment tracked. Debt is tracked. Payment history is tracked. Background checks, drug, and psychology tests are pre-employment screening tools. Our worthiness is evaluated by a mere number. Trust institutionally, and individually sacrificed in the name of safety. All these precautionary measures have not delivered safety to humanity.
Trust is an essential ingredient for humanity to thrive. It brings us closer. Makes us safer. Makes us humane. Every aspect of humanity is predicated upon trust. Trust is the nucleus around which individuals, family, society, nations, and everything around us orbit. When the nucleus is damaged, or destroyed, every aspect of humanity gets scattered. Individuals, families, societies, and nations are incapable of forming a new nucleus to orbit around minus trust. Adrift, and bereft of supportive energy of the nucleus of trust, individuals, families, and societies try to harness energy from an unknown, and unproven source within the existential realm. For destroying trust does not eradicate humanity. We drift away. Our energizing aspects dim, and robs us of existential energy. We live in a society inactively. Society lives in a nation inactively. Nations live in the world inactively. Inactivated humanity becomes unresponsive. Unresponsive humanity is an environmental burden. We need to recognize the interdependencies of our world. Trust is an essential ingredient to maintain and keep in harmony a multitude of life forces in check and balance.
One must become cognizant of the seismic shifts in humanity. Things do not occur in nature irrationally. There is a purpose behind every act of nature. It is incumbent upon the superior race to discover intriguing nature. Did modernity end trust, or did nature promote abnormal growth of human ingenuity to discard non adherent humanity to protect itself. The outcome is not in doubt regardless of the reason. Post-Modern times will emerge from these chaotic times of modernity. Nature cannot exist in absurd times. Human race is an essential component of nature. For without human beings, nature manifests violently as well.
