TikTok Modernity

We have thrown the red carpet to ignorance. Our party is taken over by an uninvited guest. How? After Technology.

After Technology. Everyone has assumed an aura that we are fully competent existentially; we understand life fully; everything we do, and think is supremely intelligent. Hence, our pursuit of ‘fun’ in life. Life’s riches are gathered and amassed in pursuing ‘fun.’ The quality of ignorance creates an illusion of supremacy. Ignorance cannot accomplish the task of destruction without nourishing our arrogance. We see our life through the prism of supreme intellect. Our problems are assigned to external factors. The existence of problems is undeniable. But the source is external to our existence. We are incapacitated to root out the problem due to the assignation to external sources, but we live with supremacy over life will negate the impact. Ignorance is an elimination tool of nature. Ignorance keeps us inebriated to shackle our minds, and rob us of our cognitive powers to recognize truth. We do not recognize the truth of our descension into an abyss. What else can explain the obsession with videos of brief seconds that garner millions of views, and comments. 

TikTok. Instagram. YouTube. Facebook. WhatsApp. Every App is designed to elicit our reactions; comment and share to a wider audience; discuss the idiocy of the people, or action provided in a few brief seconds of the video content. We assume a sense of superiority watching, sharing, and commenting because we do not engage in such silly acts depicted in videos. We see children and adults performing the most ludicrous acts for views on the Internet. We are assigning a quality of intelligence to our discussions and comments because we praise, or condemn the act based on the values of an arrogant I. Intelligence is an imposed quality that arrives to our senses through the channel of ignorance. Absence of the viewed content, in us, assumes an aura of intelligence.

The poverty of ignorant acts within our existence cannot be seen as intelligence. Intelligence is a separate and elite entity in nature. We do not witness such ignorant acts in nature. Intelligence frees us from problems. It must be well understood that problems and intelligence are mutually independent. Intelligence solves problems. Ignorance creates problems. We should apply this definition to our lives. If intelligence and ignorance were two sides of the scale, which side do we tilt? Which side does society tilt? Which side does a nation tilt? Which side does leadership tilt? Which side do businesses tilt? Which side does TikTok tilt?

 Absence of ignorance is not the presence of intelligence within us. The rule of absence of something, which indicates the presence of the opposite is a valid principle in nature. We can see that the presence of light indicates absence of darkness, and vice versa. Generally, we can observe that good indicates absence of bad in nature. Logically, it should stretch to intelligence as well if illuminance is intelligence, and darkness is ignorance. Even though intelligence is the illumination of our minds, it does not follow the principle we witness in nature. For, we are discoverers of the self. Discoverers of nature. Discoverers of the vast galaxies. Discoverers of the past, present, and future. Rules that are applicable to the insentient are inapplicable for the sentient. How would our greatness and superiority manifest without distinction of rules? 

Intelligence must be internalized for it to illuminate our existence. Intelligence cannot exist external to our existence as it does presently with the Internet. We see the Internet as a source of impeccable, incontrovertible, and purest form of knowledge that is at our disposal at all times. We do not deem it important to commit to practice because it exists at our command. However, intelligence when not coupled with ability and practice handcuffs our life. We may possess intelligence on how to prepare a dish we like to eat, however our ability to execute is absent. We cannot prepare a dish to satisfy hunger without our ability. What went wrong? Ability is absent. Practice of intelligence is ability. We cannot internalize intelligence without practicing. 

Few among billions of us achieve the status of ultra-wealthy. Their wealth is in billions. Their stature is unimaginable. They strive to improve human condition tirelessly. They wax poetic about the desire to solve various problems confronting humanity with elan that intelligence is showered upon them unsought. Centuries have passed, yet the problems that humanity faces remain undiminished. Trillions of dollars have been spent to date, yet we have not made progress to declare that humanity can exist without problems. Every well-known figure marches up to declare problems for humanity. We see this all around us. One would have to deeply ponder the existence of problems amid the growth of modern intelligence! Intelligence that should free us from problems delivering problems for humanity is a conundrum the ordinary billions of us have to solve. Clearly, the ultra-wealthy are not desirous to solve problems. How are they going to accumulate billions in a problem-free world?

Ultra-wealthy are only a few in number. Like a few molecules from an ocean. It does not even amount to a drop of water. We are an ocean. Why are we not desirous to develop our intelligence to illuminate our existence? Why is our world the construction of external sources? Our desire to lead our life as it best can be experienced based upon our development of intelligence frees us from all problems, and prepares us for a journey far beyond the scope of this birth of TikTok Modernity.
