Human History Cannot Be Dugout

Eternally new is Sanaatana, sada asti. Sada asti means ever present. We need to know eternally new as “Sanaatana” because we can unravel human existence and experience from times immemorial. English literature, or Western literature in Latin, or other languages does not offer written evidence as much as Sanaatana does. We cannot conclusively deduce human origins from digging graves, or through archaeological discoveries of goblets, etc. It might be useful for conjectural construction, but that should not satisfy humanity. Humanity deserves much more than conjecture. Our intelligence must command us to seek, at least, a logically sound argument. Our ancestral heritage merits a reverential bow at the least. We can dig the entire planet to find bones. Are we going to engage in carbon dating of all those bones to determine the age of humanity? How are we going to find bones in areas that cremate bodies? How do we construct a narrative for people who cremate dead bodies? We should have many questions about the modern narrative of human origins just as we have questions on ancestral heritage. If we can question and mock ancestry as a myth, what validates existing times unquestionably?

Revelry of present times is like the discovery of eternal elixir. Human conquest has opened the final frontier of life. There is nothing ahead, merrymaking till we depart is how humanity has devolved. If, indeed, we opened the ultimate gate of life’s arc, then the inequality of human condition is cruel beyond reasoning. Seven billion of us should have an entry permit to the riches of life. Toiling away has proven to be inept at opening the doors of modern heaven on Earth for billions of us. Our life, in the present age, is an optical illusion. People are irresponsible. Industry is irresponsible. Governance is irresponsible. Leaders are irresponsible. We live with philosophical chicaneries of ‘hard work pays off,’ etc. We recycle our waste, assuming our share is fulfilled to restore the environment. We buy EV assuming we are contributing to reducing carbon emissions. Companies offer carbon offset options to make us feel less guilty of the pleasures we derive from excesses. How generous of the company to do humanity a favor by providing us with an option to purchase environmental offsets. How ignorant of us to think that we can purchase our way out of a mess we created.

We are breeding ignorance. Our education system produces ignorant soldiers for the industry. We need to discover that the cosmic system always serves dual purposes. What exists can create and destroy too. Ignorance created an artificial façade of existence, and it will unravel at the right time to destroy our existence. In a Universe of responsibility, humans have opted to exercise their right of irresponsibility. Nature possesses a right to exercise her responsibility when she chooses should not be lost in our minds. How can we make this discovery, and right the ship for humanity?

We need to discover ourselves. The discovery of our history can solve all problems of humanity, and of our external world. When our narrative of our history is made up of cave person, Neanderthals, Hominids, dark ages, Renaissance, etc., will breed an inept, incompetent, and unintellectual thoughts in humanity. We withdraw from life. Ennui develops existentially, and we drift further and further from truth. Modern science deserves to search for human origins, but when the search has not resulted in discovering the truth it is best to remain silent. Their search would have been far more productive had they incorporated ‘Sanaatana,’ and avoided woefully incomplete, and inaccurate accounts of African roots for human origins. The reader should rethink about a seed because it offers complete proof to dismiss African origins for humanity. The sapling that shoots up from the ground derives nutrition and strength from the seed. The seed, forever, remains ready to regenerate. The roots should always remain strong for humanity to excel. Humanities roots are thoughts. Thoughts on life. Thoughts on systems of living of various life forms we witness. Thoughts on the origins of life. Thoughts on wide ranging aspects about the cosmos. Thoughts on the inequality of human condition. Thoughts on inequality in the universe. Humanity cannot point to a lone source of strength with African roots. It should not be treated as demeaning to African culture, but ancestral heritage does not point in the direction of Africa. We are concerned, only, with revealing to ourselves the source for philosophical foundations for human life.

Human condition exists on a superior perch because of our ability to communicate. Communication for humanity exists in the form of oral traditions, and literature. Thus, discovering humanity must explore literary works. Our origins cannot be discovered by digging. Our origins cannot be traced through DNA. Our origins cannot be arbitrarily decided by evolutionary theories observing life on a remote island. Moreover, all these theories have been changed many times since first proposed. Our roots cannot be subjected to change. It should always remain unchanged. Everything that is offered to humanity is a work of robust imagination. It does not fit our lives. It does not offer a path for us in living. All these theories exist in the academic world. Academic world, and our lives are incongruent. Intelligence should serve to uplift humanity.

Human history teaches us how to live responsibly. When we live responsibly, the world around us cooperates beautifully. If we are meant to live irresponsible lives, then all the legal systems should be voided. It is blatantly obvious that we are punished for wrongdoings, rewarded for right choices is proof for existence of good and bad in our existential systems. It is not exclusive to the human race. Even animal species are subjected to the same principle. For humans, a legal system exists. What system is rewarding, or punishing animals? They are receiving the benefits of right and wrong choices. Nature. When we are part of nature, are not we going to receive rewards and punishments from nature? We do. What we receive in the legal system is to keep the negative elements in society at bay. The real reward or punishment awaits the person in another birth.

Jada Bharata’s story is a narrative of the consequences that even a momentary slip in responsibilities can have on life. After all, Jada Bharata did not commit crime by helping the fawn. No, he chose to abandon his pursuit of meditation, and instead shifted the focus on to the fawn. Consequence was birth as a deer, and later as a human. He suffered due to shifting the focus from his responsibilities of living monastically. Arjuna, just 5125 plus years back, in the battlefield wanted to shirk from responsibilities as well. Fortunately, he had the ultimate source of knowledge as a charioteer who helped to avoid the catastrophic choice he contemplated. Who is our charioteer in our life? We need to discover our inner charioteer to steer our life in the right direction. For the wrong choice we make will manifest in the wider world as well. Strength of humanity impacts and reverberates across the galaxies. The same strength will invite catastrophic consequences on this beautiful planet for billions of people. How long do we wait for science to discover our history? It is available in ‘Sanaatana’ literature. For humanity is discoverable in written words, far more elegantly, than by digging is a post-modern truth. Center For Post-Modern Studies will launch soon.
